Wines from the Piceno hills, born of stubborn dedication.
Native Adriatic wines, sculpted by sunlight, sea salt, and the patience of those who know how to wait.
A young couple, a single grape, one land.
Eleonora Rossi and Marco Casolanetti — a young couple of growers in love with the Montepulciano grape, with their land of Piceno, and with the beauty of wine: with what it can give to those who drink it, provided they respect it and know it.
"They are not interested in technically perfect wines orphaned of the producer’s personality. The real added value remains the human factor."— Eleonora Rossi & Marco Casolanetti
The human factor: with all its weight of considered passion, of research, of dedication. From here come Kurni and Kupra — two wines, nothing more, made with the discipline of decades of careful work in the vineyard and the cellar.
The hills of Piceno, facing the Adriatic.
Vigneti · Cupra Marittima · late summerThe vineyards lie on the hills of Piceno, a few kilometres from the Adriatic, facing south-east. The cellar is small; the work is hand work — careful pruning, low yields, long fermentations. Nothing automated, nothing hurried.

Two wines. Nothing else.
Each is grown, fermented, and aged with the same conviction — that the wine’s character is not refined out of it.
Kurni · 100% MontepulcianoKurni
100% Montepulciano · Marche IGT
A Montepulciano like no other.
Thick, dense, almost insolent in its elegance. Kurni is the wine Eleonora Rossi and Marco Casolanetti dreamed of when they left the city for the hills of Piceno: a Montepulciano farmed the way it was a century ago, harvested late, fermented unhurriedly, and aged in wood for nearly two years.
The fruit comes from ungrafted vineyards over forty years old, facing south-east toward the Adriatic, on calcareous-clay soils that give the wine the salt of the sea and the minerality of stone. Harvest is entirely by hand, in multiple passes, cluster by cluster.
Kurni 2008 collected, in a single year, Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri, DueMillavini’s 5 Grappoli, L’Espresso’s "Vino dell’Eccellenza", and the Go Wine "Autoctono si nasce" prize. For oenographers it remains one of the few Italian reds that speaks to the heart before the palate.

Kupra · 100% Bordo (Grenache)Kupra
100% Bordo (Grenache) · Marche IGT
A Grenache with the delicacy of the greatest reds.
Kupra is drawn from an old vineyard high on a hill facing the sea, at four hundred metres. Fermentation takes place in a raw concrete egg — the same vessel the old farmers used — and the wine then rests for thirty months in barrique, first and second. The first commercial vintage was 2006; trials go back to 2000.
Three senses: a Grenache unlike most you will meet, with the delicacy only the very greatest reds possess. Aromas of small red fruits, liquorice, Indian spice — complex and delicate, in a steady oscillation. A silky, intriguing, velvety finish.
